Best Places to Shop for Antiques in Goodlettsville

We’ve all been there.

It’s a new town, an old town, and we want to take back a little something from the town to keep in our own homes.  We want a physical reminder of our trip there, so that every time we see that little trinket we will remember how much fun we had.

If you’re anything like me, that first place you go to find a souvenir is an antique mall.  I know, I know, that’s not where you would think to look for a souvenir, but hear me out.  Where else can you find a souvenir that is unique, not only to that town, but completely unique, as in, you will probably never find anyone else with that exact souvenir in their home?  Only at an antique store!

Goodlettsville is a town full of history.

And you’d be surprised at some of the treasures you can find in antique stores.  With all of the vintage and retro styles that are coming back around, you just might find yourself owning something that is at the cutting edge of a modern trend.  You might start getting compliments and questions about your find.  Who knows, you might even start a new trend, and then you can proudly claim the title of trendsetter.

So what about our town of Goodlettsville?

Goodlettsville is a town full of history.  From its original settlement of the 1780s, called Mansker’s Station, to its proximity to Nashville and its country music roots, Goodlettsville has a long and storied past behind it.  If you’re looking to share in that history and maybe even own a piece of it for yourself, there is no better way to do that than to visit one of the many great antique stores here in town.  Most of them are even located right on Main Street, the oldest part of Goodlettsville!  Here are some of our top picks for places to go antique shopping.

The Rare Bird

Follow the tracks of the Rare Bird to find deals and treasures galore!  Located in a huge building with close to 50 booths, the Rare Bird is one of Goodlettsville’s greatest treasures.  Shop for vintage clothing, old books, beautiful furniture, authentic china pieces, and collectible knick-knacks, all at the same place.  Also, enjoy strolling through a building that was once the Dorris and Swift Grocery store in the 1950s, Goodlettsville’s first self serve supermarket.

Cast + Found Vintiques

This road front building on Goodlettsville’s historic Main Street used to be next to the original storefront of B. F. Myers.  Now you can shop in both the downstairs and upstairs areas for all manner of fabulous antiques.

The Goodlettsville Antique Mall

Right across the street from Cast + Found Vintiques is the building known as The Goodlettsville Antique Mall.  This building was originally the Hardcastle Motor Company (see picture below).  Possibly larger than the Rare Bird, this building houses a huge number of booths and antique vendors.  It’s a place to get lost in, and you’re sure to come out with something new, or should I say, something old.

And while you’re looking at antiques, don’t forget to visit Historic Mansker’s Station, a replica fort from 1779, and the Bowen-Campbell House, an historic building that is full of antiques.  Any history lover is sure to find them both exciting and unique.
